Moodle submissions (20%): There are 4 pre-class assignments to complete in order to engage more with course content. There are 4 submissions each worth 5% each. To get full points on these, you sometimes have to be present in class. If you miss one, there is an extra credit submission that can be completed by 11:59pm on April 4.
Midterms (40%): There will be two midterms in this course, each worth 20%. Details on exam format will be provided prior to the first exam. These exams will cover information presented in class AND in the assigned text/readings and videos. All exam dates are indicated on the course calendar.
Case study + video (20%): Individually, you will write a fictional case study of a patient. Then in a pair, you will record a video of a neuropsychological assessment of your patient cases. These videos may be incorporated into the final practicum. Due dates are indicated on the course calendar and more details will be provided in class.
Final practicum (20%): This final assessment will comprise include a written take-home exam and an in-person neuropsychological practicum that will occur during the scheduled final exam period. The practicum will involve watching videos of patient behaviour (mostly during neuropsychological assessments) and determining the corresponding neurological deficits. Two-thirds of the take home exam will be covering material since the 2nd midterm. Given the nature of the course content however, topics build upon one another and so there will be aspects of all exams that are cumulative (e.g. to understand how memory works we need to look at what is going on at synapses).
